MICHIGAN — Two counties in southwest Michigan have seen increased numbers of individuals infected with COVID-19, according to reports released Friday afternoon.

As of 3 p.m., the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state of Michigan has risen to 3,657, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Berrien County’s number of cases jumped to 18 from 11, which was the number reported Thursday. Van Buren County also reported an additional case, bringing its total case number to three. Cass County remains with one confirmed case.

Statewide, there have been 92 reported deaths as a result of the virus, none of which were reported in Berrien, Cass or Van Buren counties.

  • Cover mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing
  • Avoid shaking hands
  • Keep at least 6 feet apart from others when in public
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home when sick
